Despite being 2-0 up in the first half Rossendale Amateurs succumbed to constant pressure from Little Lever SC, and finally lost the LFA Amateur Cup final 3-2 after extra time. Although Rossendale were on top for most of the first half, Little Lever pulled one goal back from the penalty spot just before half time. Little Lever seemed to be lacking the necessary striking power to equalise despite being on top for the majority of the second half, but as normal time was running out equalised with a neat header with 5 minutes to go. The game went into extra time, remained 2-2 after the first period but Little Lever scored the winner at the start of the second period of extra time. Rossendale came back strongly but were thwarted by a series of excellent saves from the Little Lever keeper in the final minutes
